Why Ourika Valley

The Ourika valley is Marrakech's favourite mountain escape and the gentlest taste of the High Atlas on a trip that pairs the calm Atlantic capital with the red city — an hour south of Marrakech, a green river valley climbs into the mountains, lined with Berber villages, terraced gardens and riverside restaurants where tables sit right in the running water. At its head, the village of Setti Fatma is the trailhead for a walk to seven waterfalls, and a Monday souk brings the valley to life. It is the easy half-day in the south to balance unhurried days on the coast.

Can you swim in the Ourika river?+
